September Meeting Notice

Last month we discussed the major wins and areas of improvements. I am working on having our monthly minutes available on the club website! (https://www.antiquecarparade.com/)

This month we will finalize the 2025 lead vehicle. As a reminder, all nominees have to have already agreed to be the lead vehicle.

August Meeting Notice

Wow! We did it and we did it well! The 70th Annual Hamilton Fairfield Parade was amazing thanks to all of you that helped!

We received so much praise from participants, spectators, and the cities!

This month we will discuss what we think went well and what we would like to improve for next year. Bring your thinking caps!

Monthly Club Meeting

Old Business

Courtney Combs announced that we will be going back to Hamilton for the awards due to Village Green amphitheater being double booked. John Walton stated that the amphitheater is booked for the awards in 2024. George Bley expressed that he is unhappy with the idea of not taking the parade back to Hamilton for awards.

Bernie McGuire asked Wanda Jones to secure a bill for the porta potties.

Bob Piper has programs and fliers available to be distributed.

Courtney Combs has 100 yard signs available for distribution after the meeting. Mike Jacobs and Jim Stapf to distribute remaining yard signs around the area and collect after the event. Bernie cautioned not to put yard signs in easement (between sidewalk and curb). Bernie questioned the bill he recieved for 150 signs.

Eddie Swope asked about magnets for 4th of July parade. John Walton confirmed that we will have the magnets. He also asked who is interested in attending the 4th of July parade. John Walton will call Eric and confirm around 6 cars.

Bernie McGuire gave specs of new tote bags. $6.49/bag with logo and no dates x 300 bags. Bernie motioned to approve the cost. Seconded by Courtney Combs. Jerry Schwartz confirmed the bag is more premium than previous years tote bag. Motion passed.

Courtney Combs suggested everyone reach out to vendors for bag stuffers.

Bernie McGuire asked about second mailer about parade route change. Bob Piper suggested forgoing a second letter to eliminate cost.

Kelly Zeller to send final parade route out to club once the city of Fairfield approves the route.

New Business

July meeting to be held earlier in the month on Sunday the 9th at 6 pm at Courtney and Carol Combs house.

Kelly Zeller suggested someone else take over organizing 4th of July Parade gathering. Courtney Combs offered to organize.

John Walton presented this year’s election of VP and Treasurer.

Courtney Combs nominated Bernie McGuire to continue as the Treasurer seconded by Ed Swope. Courtney Combs Motioned to Close Nominations Seconded by Ed Swope. Vote Passed - Bernie McGuire excepted

Ed Swope nominated John Walton Seconded by Laveda Bailey. Ed Swope motioned to close nomination seconded by Courtney Combs. vote passed John Walton Excepted

John Walton asked who is ordering t shirts. LaVeda Bailey confirmed. John Walton will provide current order for parkers after meeting.

Courtney Combs called for a motion of silence for Rae Ann Wimberly.

The Wimberly family suggested that we continue to sponsor the Doug and Rae ann Wimberly car run to Houston Woods. Courtney combs motioned to approve. Seconded by Ed Swope motion passed

George Bley motioned to adjourn seconded by Ed Swope meeting adjourned at 7:30

We are excited to announce our 2023 Lead Car is Bernie McGuire’s 1940 Sixty Special Cadillac in honor of the 120th Cadillac anniversary.  Additionally, we have made the decision to have a secondary Lead Car honoring the 100th MG anniversary.
